First Traditional Chinese Costume Day
Date: 14/02/2025
On February 14, 2025, our school celebrated its First Traditional Chinese Costume Day! This event was not only an opportunity to deepen our understanding of culture but also a chance to experience the elegance and charm of traditional Chinese clothing through vibrant and exquisite designs.
On the day of the event, both teachers and students dressed in traditional Chinese costumes, coming together to participate in this grand occasion. We also organized an inter-class Chinese sports competition, including activities such as shuttlecock kicking, cuju (ancient Chinese football), and pitch-pot (a traditional arrow-throwing game). Students eagerly participated, and the fierce competition among teams allowed everyone to experience the charm of traditional Chinese sports.
The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the "Glamorous Turnaround" Inter-House Quiz Competition hosted by the four houses. Students from each house wore costumes representing emperors and empresses from different dynasties as they confidently took to the stage. They not only showcased the imperial attire but also introduced the unique characteristics of clothing from each dynasty, providing the audience with a deeper understanding of Chinese costume culture. The event was met with continuous applause and laughter, as students' enthusiasm and dedication to Chinese traditional costume culture filled the day with joy.
The teachers were no less enthusiastic, donning various traditional Chinese outfits and joining the students to enjoy this wonderful occasion. This inaugural Traditional Chinese Costume Day not only enhanced everyone’s understanding of Chinese clothing culture but also strengthened the bond between teachers and students. We look forward to an even more exciting celebration next year!
